Shirley’s career in design began with a degree in Architecture from the University of Nottingham before she obtained an MA in Interior Design and completed her qualification as an Architect at the University of Brighton.  She has since gone on to build an impressive portfolio of projects working with some of the world's most prestigious architectural firms including Foster + Partners in London.  Here she took part in several landmark schemes worldwide including The Bow in Calgary and Seattle Civic Square in the USA.

Shirley’s creative flair and attention to detail was quickly recognised in the industry and she became lead designer on a number of projects. During this time she worked predominately with private high-end residential developers and luxury hotel clients for premium properties in some of London's most exclusive locations. Shirley’s talent and flexible approach to design has allowed her to work successfully across the residential, hotel and commercial sectors.

The founding of SSYL Studio has provided Shirley with the opportunity to offer a more personal approach to her clients whilst demonstrating a strong dedication and passion for high quality design. Actively involved in the entire design process, she manages everything from the early concept stage to construction and completion onsite.
